Glass collection scheduled at Deer Lakes Park

Allegheny County along with the Pennsylvania Resources Council will sponsor a glass recycling bin that will be available from 7 a.m. to sundown June 3 to 8 in the Veteran Shelter parking lot of Deer Lakes, Park, West Deer.

Individuals can drop off glass bottles, jars and jugs of all colors. No color sorting is required. Containers should be empty and rinsed with labels and lids still on. Bags and boxes used to deliver glass must be discarded off-site.

Volunteers needed for music festival in Hyde Park

Volunteers are needed to help out at the Leechburg Pink Day Notes for Hope music festival planned July 15 in Hyde Park.

People are needed to work at the gate and sell shirts and tickets for the 50/50 raffle. One-hour shifts will begin at noon and volunteers get free admission to the concert.

Free take-out dinners available at Knead Community Cafe

Knead Community Café, 1011 Barnes St., New Kensington, will distribute free grab-and-go meals from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the café, 1011 Barnes St.

Monday and Wednesday: The Thrift Store Clothing Ministry at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. All items are free, but donations will be accepted. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome. Harrison

Wednesday: Faith Lutheran Church, 1500 Broadview Blvd., will host a Becky’s Closet community clothing store from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Clothing available at very low cost. Donations welcome during this time.

Jefferson

Thursday: Bingo will be at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 754 N. Pike Road. Doors open at 5 p.m. Under new management with higher payouts. The kitchen will be open. Proceeds benefit post and auxiliary projects.

Kittanning

Thursday and Sunday: Armstrong County Historical Museum, 300 N. McKean St., will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Hours may change for special events.
