Tarentum senior center to host open house
Highland Senior Center in Tarentum will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the center, 704 E. Second Ave.
Residents who are at least 60 years old are welcome to attend. The schedule includes a doughnut social at 10 a.m., craft workshops at 10:15 a.m., Silver Sneakers yoga stretch at 10:30 a.m., lunch at noon, and free prize bingo at 12:30 p.m.

Volunteers needed to aid seniors
Open Your Heart to a Senior is looking for volunteers to help their older neighbors.
People are needed to drive to doctor appointments, shop for groceries and make calls to check on and say hello to people who are alone. For information, call 724-205-6282 or email oyhs@wfspa.org.
Help needed to plant flowers in Springdale Cemetery
Local veterans will plant geraniums on the graves of members of the military at 10 a.m. Saturday at Springdale Cemetery in observance of Memorial Day.
Anyone who wants to help is welcome. Please bring a shovel.

Today: The monthly Fridays on Fifth event will be from 5 to 9 p.m. along Fifth Avenue. Shops, restaurants and breweries will be open and there will be music and food trucks. June 4: An all-specials bingo will be at 1 p.m. at the Eagles, 2134 Freeport Road. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $40 in advance, includes lunch and package. There will be 20 special games, a guaranteed $500 jackpot game, cash bar, silent auction, small games of chance and a 50/50 raffle. No outside food or beverages permitted.
