Spaghetti dinner to aid Burrell HS student
A spaghetti dinner to benefit Elijah Goulet, 16, of Lower Burrell will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Methodist Church, 150 Alder St., Lower Burrell.
Elijah will under a 16-hour surgery Nov. 5 in Cincinnati to alleviate pain from chronic pancreatitis. Proceeds will be used to help with medical expenses.
The menu will include pasta, meatballs, salad and bread for $10, dine in or takeout. There will be a bake sale and basket raffle. To donate, visit cota.org/cotaforelistrong.
Hats, scarves to be collected by Apollo Elks
The Apollo Elks Lodge is collecting winter clothing accessories through Nov. 17 for students in the Apollo-Ridge School District.
The Elks received a grant to purchase new winter jackets for children. Gloves, mittens, scarves, socks and winter hats can be dropped off during regular hours at Apollo Memorial Library, 219 N Pennsylvania Ave. and at the Elks Lodge, 151 Elks Lodge Road, Kiski Township.
Donations being accepted for holiday turkey vouchers
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches is accepting donations to help with the food bank turkey voucher distribution.
To contribute, send a check with “Thanksgiving” in the memo to Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065. All donations will be acknowledged.
