Holiday program welcoming sponsorships, donations
Armstrong County Community Action Partnership is sponsoring its Adopt-A-Family Holiday Project to provide gifts to children of families in need.
Recipients are identified through the partnership’s programs and the number of enrolled children continues to grow. Sponsors are needed to shop for a specific child or make a donation and allow a member of the project team to do the shopping.

Drive-thru food distribution set Tuesday at Pittsburgh Mills
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host a drive-thru food distribution for anyone in need from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in parking lot of the former JC Penney store at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer.
Reservations are not required. Do not arrive before 4 p.m. Guests should remain in their vehicles and open their door or trunk and will be served on a first come, first served basis.

Nov. 22 and 23: Apollo United Presbyterian Church, 401 First St., is accepting reservations for its annual Christmas tea. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. for a craft sale and entertainment will be at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Menu: chicken salad or baked ham croissant. Cost: $20. Proceeds will benefit Food 4 Kids and Apollo Area Food Bank. Paid reservations required. Friday: St. Vladimir Church, 1610 Kenneth Ave., is accepting orders for its pierogi sale. Varieties: potato or sauerkraut, $14 per dozen. Pickup: 12:30 to 4 p.m. Fridays in the church social hall. Nov. 22: Freeport Kiwanis will sponsor a bingo fundraiser at 6 p.m. at Laube Hall, 115 Community Park Road. Kiski Township
Tuesday: The diaper pantry at Spring Church Lutheran Church, 3623 Lutheran Church Road, will distribute diapers from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Distributions will be the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Recipients must register in advance. First-time recipients must provide their own ID, the child’s birth certificate and a current WIC or SNAP card. Registration: 724-478-1528.

Saturday: Leechburg Volunteer Fire Company will host a turkey bingo at 4:30 p.m. at the firehall, 268 Canal St. Doors open at 3 p.m. and an early bird jackpot game that pays $300 will be at 4 p.m. Cost: $35 in advance; at the door, $45; includes a light meal, and a packet for 20 regular games that pay $100 and four specials that pay $250.
