Music performances to benefit Burrell HS student

The Burrell High School Band and choir will present a music fundraiser from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday to benefit Eliljah Goulet and his family.

Elijah is recovering from a serious surgery done earlier this month in Cincinnati to alleviate pain from chronic pancreatitis. There will be soloists and small group performances. The kitchen will be open and there will be a basket raffle and 50-50. Admission is $5.

Festival of Trees raffle supports hospital projects

Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor its annual Festival of Trees raffle Monday through Dec. 18 to benefit projects supporting the hospital.

Each hospital department decorates a tree to be raffled off and they are on display in the lobby. Tickets are 10 for $5 or 20 for $10 and can be purchased weekdays in the lobby of the hospital, 1301 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights. Cash or checks will be accepted. Winners receive a fully decorated tree. The drawing will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 18.

Opportunities available to help senior citizens

Open Your Heart to a Senior is looking for volunteers to help our older neighbors.

People are needed to drive to doctor appointments, shop for groceries and make calls to check on and say hello to people who are alone. To offer your time and for information, call 724-205-6282 or email oyhs@wfspa.org.

Gilpin
