Scam program planned Nov. 14 for veterans
Veterans and their families are welcome to attend a free event about how to avoid scams and frauds from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 14 at the Allegheny Valley Marine Corps League, 838 Pittsburgh St., Springdale.
Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. and there will be a free lunch, consumer information fair, free parking, and speakers. Sponsored by Sen. Lindsey Williams, seating is limited, and reservations are required.

Nov. 22 and 23: Apollo United Presbyterian Church, 401 First St., is accepting reservations for its annual Christmas tea. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. for a craft sale and entertainment will be at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Menu: chicken salad or baked ham croissant. Cost: $20.
