Fall fun day set Saturday in Harrison
Fun and Freedom Youth Sports and the Natrona Comes Together Association will host a free fall fun day for children from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Natrona Park and playground on River Avenue.
There will be games crafts at 12:30, pumpkin decorating at 1 p.m., treats and treat bags at 1:30 p.m. and prize drawings at 1:45 p.m.
NK Volunteer Fire Department plans annual safety day
The annual Matt Sobecki Fire Safety Day will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Barnes Street in New Kensington.
Free activities will include fire safety seminars and demonstrations, a touch-a-truck and fire safety education trailer. Free hot dogs and drinks will be served. The event will be hosted by the New Kensington Volunteer Fire Department.
Westmoreland County Marines to supply Christmas groceries
Westmoreland County Marines will provide Christmas groceries to local veterans’ families in need.
Registration is required by Nov. 15. Families must have include honorably discharged or active duty veteran and live in Lower Burrell, Upper Burrell, New Kensington, Arnold, Vandergrift, Leechburg or Apollo to be eligible. To register, email Jim Walters at waltersusmc@comcast.net with full name, address, telephone number and branch of service.
Funds for the project come from local residents and businesses. To make a financial donation, mail a check payable to Westmoreland County Marines, in care of Jim Walters, 176 Hilltop Drive, Lower Burrell PA 15068.
