Donations being accepted for holiday turkey vouchers
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches is accepting donations to help with the food bank turkey voucher distribution.
To contribute, send a check with “Thanksgiving” in the memo to Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065. All donations will be acknowledged.
Local food shuttle available in NK, Arnold and Lower Burrell Manor
The Fresh Food Shuttle sponsored by the New Kensington Downtown Partnership and Wesley Family Services operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for residents of New Kensington, Arnold and Lower Burrell Manor.
Residents can be picked up at their homes and be taken to Golden Dawn, Giant Eagle, Animal Protectors Food Bank and Aldi, all in New Kensington, and Walmart and Aldi, both in Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer.
Riders must be at least 18 years old and can bring up to four bags. Shuttles are smoke-free. For details and a schedule, call 724-895-8270.
