Many municipalities will have trick-or-treat tonight. Please watch out for the children as you drive through local neighborhoods.

Purse bingo to benefit animal shelter, veterans charity

A designer purse bingo will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at West Leechburg Firehall, 1116 Gosser Road.

Doors open at 11 a.m. Admission is $40 and includes cards for 10 regular games, specials, a light lunch, water and pop. There will be walk-arounds, strip tickets and a 50-50 raffle.

Proceeds will benefit Champion’s Crusaiders Rescue and Five Forces veterans charity. For tickets, send a message on the rescue Facebook page.

Free diapers available at Freeport pantry

St. Mary Mother of God Church in Freeport will sponsor a diaper pantry for those in need from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday on the lower level of the church Family Community Center, 407 Freeport Road. Use the back door entrance.

First-time recipients must provide their ID, the child’s birth certificate and their current WIC or SNAP card. Distributions are the first Saturday of each month.

Saturday: Allegheny Valley League of Artists will host an exhibit through Nov. 30 at Uncle Dave’s Art Studio. 4135 Leechburg Road. An opening event will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Public welcome.

Apollo

Today: The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center will distribute free grab-and-go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the center parking lot, 917 Brackenridge Ave. Free grocery items from Walmart and Aldi will be available. Everyone is welcome.

Saturday: Trinity United Methodist Church, 847 10th Ave., will host a holiday country store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church. There will be handmade crafts, baked goods, soups and takeout food.

Nov. 10: Highlands High School Band Boosters will host a bingo fundraiser at 1 p.m. at the American Legion, 845 First Ave. Doors open at noon. Cost: $30 in advance; $35 at the door, includes a light lunch. There will be a silent auction and 50-50. Tickets: bingo4hvbb@gmail.com.

Saturday: Allegheny County park rangers will host a free guided hike, “Owl Prowl,” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Harrison Hills Park, Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Meet at the Rachel Carson shelter. The hike will be approximately two miles with moderate elevation changes. Bring water and wear closed toe shoes. Flashlights will be provided. Reservations required.
