Adventures with Wine dinner to benefit Peoples Library

The Peoples Library Adventure with Wine dinner will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 17 at the New Kensington library, 880 Barnes St.

Several different wines will be paired with food presented by Hoffstot’s Cafe Monaco of Oakmont and there will be a basket auction. The menu includes miniature chicken saltimbocca, tempura shrimp, miniature Caesar salad, pumpkin ravioli, mini toasted almond tortes and an Italian antipasto display.

Free lunches available at Brackenridge Salvation Army

The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center will distribute free grab-and-go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the center parking lot, 917 Brackenridge Ave.
