State police said a man pulled over in North Buffalo Township for speeding had more than 4 ounces of crack cocaine in the glove box and nearly $5,000 under the seat.

Kahn Mykle Holliday, 30, of the 1100 block of Leishman Avenue in Arnold was charged July 12 with a felony count of possession of drugs with the intent to deliver along with DUI and two related drug charges. He also was issued citations for reckless driving and having windows that were tinted too dark.

Court records show Holliday also uses the name Terrell Houser Wright.

A felony charge also was filed against Holliday, accusing him of leaving most of his vehicle on the roadway when he was pulled over for speeding along Route 28 North just before the Route 422 interchange, according to a criminal complaint.

According to staff at District Judge J. Gary DeComo’s office, a warrant for Holliday’s arrest has been issued. A date for a preliminary hearing on the charges won’t be scheduled until after he is taken into custody, they said.

A trooper wrote in Holliday’s arrest papers that he was patrolling Route 28 about 8 p.m. May 26 near Exit 18 when he pulled over a black Lincoln MKZ that sped past at 95 mph in a 65 mph zone.

A faint smell of marijuana mixed with the “overwhelming” odor of cologne was coming from the vehicle, the trooper said. There also were at least six $20 bills seen sticking out from underneath the driver’s seat, the complaint said.

When questioned, Holliday told police he did not have a state medical marijuana card and that the pot smell was from someone else who smoked in the vehicle, the complaint said.

The trooper said Holliday was driving alone.

Holliday refused to allow the trooper to search the vehicle but agreed to undergo a field sobriety test, according to the complaint. He was charged with DUI after the tests indicated he likely was impaired by drugs or alcohol, police said.

Holliday would not allow blood to be drawn so it could be tested for the presence of drugs or alcohol, the complaint said.

The vehicle was towed to the state police station near Kittanning after Holliday refused the trooper’s second request to search it, police said.

Police got a warrant to search the vehicle May 31 and discovered inside the glove compartment two baggies totaling 122 grams of crack cocaine, or 4.35 ounces; a partially burned marijuana “blunt”; and materials used to package drugs, the complaint said.

A bottle of cologne was found on the back seat, police said.

Two cellphones were found under the driver’s seat along with $4,575, the complaint said. Investigators noted the two phones in the car were in addition to the one Holliday took with him when he was taken into custody.

Police said the amount of money found in the vehicle suggests Holliday was involved in drug dealing.

They said a pay stub found in the car from a landscaping company where he works showed he earned only $2,020 before taxes and deductions during the first five months of the year.

Court records show Holliday is awaiting trial in Westmoreland County on two counts of drug possession. Formal arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 23.
