At least one person was taken by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash in New Kensington.

The crash happened around noon. A Westmoreland County 911 supervisor said emergency crews responded to the area of Industrial Boulevard and Eighth Street. A road closure was in effect for a short time.

A female patient was moved to the main parking lot of Valley Jr.-Sr. High School, about a half-mile from the crash site. New Kensington Ambulance Service EMS Manager Addie Birch Jr. said that patient was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in critical condition.

Another victim was taken by ambulance to the same hospital, according to the Westmoreland County 911 supervisor.
