U.S. Rep. Chris Deluzio, D-Fox Chapel, said he hopes Thursday’s social media spat between President Trump and his former senior adviser Elon Musk prompts senators to rethink Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

“Folks might be surprised that Elon Musk agrees with me: this is a bad bill,” Deluzio said in a statement Thursday evening. “It would raise the deficit and saddle all of us with trillions of debt while shoveling tax breaks to billionaires and giant corporations, all while ripping away health care and food assistance.”

Deluzio added: “My Senate colleagues have a chance to change course here — and if this Twitter war is the battle that kills Trump’s tax scam, we will all be better off.”

In an X post late Thursday, U.S. Rep. Summer Lee, D-Swissvale, said, “Elon Musk bought his way into the highest ranks of our government with a clear agenda, glaring conflicts of interests, and no clearances or background checks to speak of.”

“Now,” Lee added, “he’s absconding off with what he came to get — all your data — while we treat his exit like entertainment.”

A spokesperson for U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Butler, declined to comment on the feud between the Republican president and the world’s richest person.

The offices of U.S. Sens. John Fetterman, D-Braddock, and Dave McCormick, R-Pittsburgh, and U.S. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Peters did not return messages.
