The Vandergrift Pool is expected to open Tuesday.

The opening was announced via Facebook Monday.

It is scheduled for noon to 7 p.m.

The pool, officially named the Joseph A. Petrarca Memorial Pool, at 1639 La Belle Vue Road had not opened for the season because of repairs needed on the concrete around its perimeter, according to borough Secretary Steve DelleDonne.

The board announced on social media in late May that “unforeseen circumstances” had delayed the opening.

Crews from KGD Contracting and pool liner company RenoSyswere able to repair the recreational site.

Pool officials addressed the repair project and concerns about the delayed opening via social media on July 7.

They said anyone that purchased a membership and would like a refund should contact the borough office.

Those who choose to keep their membership will be able to use it this season as well as next summer.
