Nobody was injured in a house fire Monday afternoon in Harrison.

Firefighters from a half-dozen companies responded at 2:15 p.m. to the fire, which started near the rear of a single-family home at 809 Jefferson Ave.

A woman who lives in the house was the only person inside when the fire broke out, Citizens Hose Fire Chief T.J. Bajack told TribLive at the scene. She was not injured.

Firefighters quickly got the fire under control, Bajack said. Many were feeding firehoses back into their trucks 45 minutes after first arriving on Jefferson Avenue.

By 3 p.m., smoke no longer poured out of the three-bedroom home. It was unclear how much of the home was damaged.

Firefighters called a second alarm for the fire but cancelled it before a back-up set of firefighters arrived, Bajack said. Firefighters from Tarentum, Harrison and Brackenridge responded to the first call.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
