A wreck closed Leechburg Road in Lower Burrell for nearly 12 hours Monday.

Leechburg Road, the main thoroughfare through the city, was closed between MacBeth Drive and Edgecliff Road from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. after a vehicle struck a utility pole.

The vehicle sheered a utility pole, which fell across the road. There were no reported injuries.

The road reopened to traffic about 2 p.m.

West Penn Power said nearly 1,100 customers in the area remained without power until about 1:30 p.m. West Penn officials attributed the delay to the “complexity of the repairs” and additional resources needed to restore power.

The company reported no outages in the area at 2 p.m.

Lower Burrell police are investigating the crash.
