One man is dead after a report of shots fired at a Derry Township home Saturday evening.

Ryan Huinker, 28, died after the incident at 1020 James St., Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson told TribLive Saturday night. The incident drew a large police presence with Pennsylvania State Police and Latrobe police reporting to the scene.

State police spokesperson Trooper Steve Limani released a statement on the social media platform X just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday:

”PSP and the City of Latrobe responded to a domestic with the report of gunshots on James St, Derry Twp. The male alleged of discharging the firearm didn’t survive. The rest of the community is safe. The investigation is ongoing. More information to follow.”

State police did not immediately respond to a request for more information Sunday morning.
