Luau on the lanes

A Hawaiian-style happy hour and bowling party is planned for 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hillview Bowling Lanes, 829 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. Luau on the Lanes will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region.

For a $75 donation, bowlers 21 and older can enjoy two games; Hawaiian jerk chicken, pizza and boneless wings; beer and signature cocktails; live music; and hula lessons. A 50/50 and other raffles will be available.

Four players are allowed per team; top team wins a trophy.

Music and brews

The sixth annual JamBrewzle Music & Brew Festival begins at noon Saturday at Four Seasons Brewing Co. in Latrobe.

The all-day, outdoor festival will feature live music, craft brews, vendors, food trucks, drum workshop, fire dancers and more.

Performance schedule runs 1:30-11 p.m., and includes (in order of appearance): Jacian Blaze, Adam Fitz, Liz Berlin, Shiva Skydriver, Gene the Werewolf, Hayley Dailey and Friends fire dancing show, sunset drum jam with Nick James and Chris Belin, and Derek Woods Band with special guests Ed Skero and Mike Minda.

Pretty pets

Every pet is beautiful in its owner’s eyes, but how does it stack up against others? Find out at the Westmoreland County Animal Beauty Pageant, from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the Elliott Group Amphitheater at Clay Avenue and Fifth Street in Jeannette.

Sponsors are Jeannette Summerfest and Youngwood Dog Club.

Reptile judging is set for 2-4 p.m., with dog and cat judging between 4-6 p.m. First-, second- and third-place winners receive cash prize and gift basket.

Registration is $10 at allevents.in.

Community fun

Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department will hold a community-based celebration from 2-10 p.m. Saturday at Lynch Field along Route 119 in Greensburg.

The event will feature food trucks, vendors, entertainment and a battle-of-the-barrel competition among area fire departments at 2:30 p.m.

Entertainment schedule includes Aubrey Burchell and Co., 3:30 p.m.; Willow Hill, 5:30 p.m.; and Andy Davis Band, 8 p.m.

A free shuttle bus will pick up festival-goers outside the Westmoreland County Courthouse annex on Pennsylvania Avenue. No parking will be available at Lynch Field.

World premiere

Walk the red carpet for the world premiere of the indie horror film “Massacre Academy” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin.

McKeesport-based filmmaker Mark Cantu used McKeesport locations as the backdrop for his original scream-fest, using local actors including Rick Dutrow of North Huntingdon, who has a recurring role in Showtime’s “American Rust.”

A ticket is $30.
