The Fred M. Rogers Center is located on the Saint Vincent College campus in Unity.

Saint Vincent College will host its annual “Faces of Battle” lecture next week at its Fred Rogers Center.

“Faces of Battle” seeks to share firsthand accounts of those impacted by armed conflict, and this year’s featured topic is “The Lost Generation.”

The lecture, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 28 following a 5 p.m. happy hour reception and 5:30 p.m. dinner, will provide background on World War I — focusing on its social impacts. Specific faces from the war will be highlighted.

The “Faces of Battle” lectures were started by Richard Wissolik, professor emeritus of English, who passed away in December 2020, with the intent to raise scholarship funds for students at the Unity college.

Eric Greisinger, adjunct instructor at the Community College of Allegheny County and Southern New Hampshire University, will present the lecture. He specializes in military, regional, cultural and United States history.

after the lecture, there will be a panel discussion with three military service members at 7 p.m., with final thoughts and the conclusion at 7:30-7:45 p.m.

Those interested in attending should call Jessica McClelland at 724-805-2963 to register and pay the $35 meal fee. All proceeds will go toward the Wissolik Scholarship Fund. Saint Vincent students can attend for free.
