Everything old will be new to someone, as Antiques on the Diamond returns to Ligonier on June 5 for a 34th season. The outdoor show and sale was canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., about 30 vendors will be present, setting up around the Diamond and two blocks east and west of the Diamond along Main Street.

The streets will remain open to vehicle traffic, noted Amy Beitel, executive director of Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce, the event’s sponsor.

Vendors hailing from Westmoreland and surrounding counties will offer a wide array of antiques, collectibles and retro items, including furniture, apparel, jewelry, housewares, decorative items, linens and clocks.

A limited number of vendor spaces remain. Anyone interested in selling should contact Beitel at the Chamber office.

“We just ask that there is no ammunition and no guns,” Beitel said.

“It’s a popular event, and people look forward to it year after year,” she added. “We couldn’t have it last year because of covid, but now the weather is nice and people are looking for things to do — especially the outdoor options.”

Heritage United Methodist Church on the Diamond will hold a sandwich and salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the event. The menu will include a choice of pulled pork or chicken salad sandwich, pasta salad, pretzel salad, nut rolls and pies. Lunch will be available for dine-in or takeout.

Proceeds will benefit the church’s local and global missions.

“Spend the day in Ligonier looking for that perfect antique, shopping our unique shops and enjoying our delicious restaurants,” Beitel said.

A second session of Antiques on the Diamond is planned for Aug. 28.
