Arnold Palmer Regional Airport will host TSA PreCheck enrollment sessions
Airline passengers who want to speed up their security line screening times will be able to enroll in the Transportation Security Administration PreCheck program April 29 to May 9 at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport near Latrobe.
The temporary TSA PreCheck center will be held in the airport terminal baggage claim area from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. April 29 to May 9, excluding the weekends. The temporary “pop-up” enrollment center will be in the terminal baggage claim area.
Fingerprints and a photograph also are required during the in-person enrollment session, which costs $76.75 and must be paid by credit card, money order or cashier’s check. Cash or personal checks will not be accepted. Membership is good for five years.
With TSA PreCheck, travelers are not required to remove their shoes, take off light outerwear or belt. They can keep their laptop in its case and keep their 3-1-1 compliant liquids or gels bag in a carry-on, in select TSA airport checkpoint screening lanes. About 99 percent of TSA PreCheck passengers wait less than 10 minutes for airport security, the TSA said.
Travelers need to pre-enroll at tsaenrollmentbyidemia.tsa.dhs.gov/, a process TSA said takes about five minutes. Passengers can make an appointment online now and complete their enrollment in-person or as a walk-in at the airport, TSA said.
Those applying for pre-check must bring documentation proving their identity and citizenship status at tsaenrollmentbyidemia.tsa.dhs.gov/.
