Hempfield Area School District hosted the first round of interscholastic playoffs Tuesday for Westmoreland County North and South Division Unified Bocce teams.

Eight schools participated in last night’s competition. Teams of students with and without intellectual disabilities joined together to compete in the popular Italian bowling game, where athletes aim to roll balls as close as possible to a predetermined target ball.
