Boaters with canoes and kayaks will have the opportunity to navigate a seven-mile stretch of Sewickley Creek from New Stanton to South Huntingdon, during the Sewickley Creek Paddle Event on June 3.

The event will start at 9 a.m. at the New Stanton Park boat launch, 715 Thermo Village Road, and the takeout point will be at Yukon Lions Park, 1095 Yukon Ave. The trip is expected to take about three hours, depending on the water level, said James Pillsbury, secretary of the Sewickley Creek Watershed Association, which is sponsoring the event.

There is a $15 registration fee. Shuttling will be provided for the first 15 participants to register.

At the end of the trip, refreshments will be provided at Yukon Lions Park.

To register, contact scwa@sewickleycreek.com. For more information, visit sewickleycreek.com.
