The Census Bureau is hiring, and those interested in applying can ask questions and learn about open positions during three informational meetings this month.

At the meetings, being held in Derry and Latrobe, potential applicants can learn what the once-a-decade survey is and why it’s important and receive help filling out online applications.

Here’s a list of date and times for the informational meetings:

  • Oct. 21 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Caldwell Memorial Library, 988 North Chestnut St. Extension, Derry
  • Oct. 22 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Adams Memorial Library, 1112 Ligonier St., Latrobe
  • Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Caldwell Memorial Library

According to the census website, workers in Westmoreland County will make $16 per hour, while Allegheny County workers will make $18.50. Available positions include field services, census takers and clerical work. Those interested can apply at 2020census.gov/jobs.
