1st new covid-19 death since May reported in Westmoreland County

Westmoreland County reported its first new coronavirus death since May on Tuesday, bringing the death total to 39.
According to the county coroner’s office, the deceased was 78-year-old white male.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Tuesday reported 35 new covid-19 cases in Westmoreland, bringing the countywide case total to 863. That includes 29 probable cases.
The department reported 27 new cases Monday, 27 new cases Sunday, 30 new cases Saturday and 33 new cases Friday.
In Westmoreland County, 20,076 people have tested negative for the virus.
According to the Department of Health, there are 91,299 cases and 6,787 deaths statewide.
All of Pennsylvania is in the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan, with Westmoreland switching to green June 5.
Wolf issued a masking order for Pennsylvanians in all public spaces and when social distancing cannot be maintained.
