The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 33 of Greensburg will hold a free community-wide American flag retirement burning ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lynch Field along New Alexandria Road in Greensburg.

During the ceremony, participants will present torn and tattered flags to the VFW Post’s fire crew, which will put the flag in the fire, said David Cackowski, adjutant for VFW Post 33 in Greensburg. Those participating can watch and reflect what the flag means to them, Cackowski said.

For more information or to register to have a flag burned, contact the Post 33 duty phone at 412-906-1197 or email Post33Flags@gmail.com.
