One incumbent and three first-time candidates came out on top of a field of six candidates in the Franklin Regional school board election on Tuesday night, according to unofficial results.

Additionally, retiree Diana Altieri Hand, 60, won election as the sole candidate running for a two-year term for the seat vacated in 2020 by Gary English. She received 4,868 votes.

Newcomer Kevin Kurimsky was the top vote-getter with 4,021 votes, followed by incumbent Mark Kozlosky (3,746) and first-time candidates Traci Eshelman Ramey (3,880) and Mike Corcetti (3,559). Kozlosky carried the northernmost precinct, Sardis #2.

Kurimsky had a strong showing overall, winning the top spot in 7 of 11 precincts. Corcetti rode a wave of strong support in both Export and Delmont to finish among the top four.
