From classic tunes to winter vibes, cool crafts and local artists, Westmoreland County is bustling with events for this mid-November weekend. Here are just a few memory-making experiences to try out.

Holiday craft show

The Latrobe American Legion Post 515 will be hosting a craft and vendor show Saturday. Where better to find a one-of-a-kind holiday gift for your hard-to-buy-for relatives?

Browse at 38 vendor tables while enjoying some tasty food. Also participate in an auction and 50-50 raffle, with proceeds benefiting the American Legion.

The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the social hall at 1811 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Get into the holiday spirit for a good cause.

Pure Gold

Take a time machine back to the decades of golden oldies with Pure Gold. This group plays hits from the good ol’ days, pulling all of the best from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.

Along with some original material, “The New Pure Gold” comes from a lengthy tradition of performing doo wop, blues and other classic genres.

The show will happen at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin. Tickets are $30. To purchase tickets or learn more about the band, visit lamptheatre.org.

Whiskey Smash

West Overton Village’s Whiskey Smash is a great opportunity to celebrate Pennsylvania whiskey. Learn about how distilleries from across the state make their rye whiskey, try a variety of samples from more than 15 sources and pick up a great bottle to take to your holiday events.

Barbecue, treats and live music will round out this evening. Attendees can also try the Whiskey Smash, a signature cocktail for the event. Check out museum displays about the heritage of Pennsylvania whiskey as well.

The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at West Overton Village, 109 W. Overton Road, East Huntingdon. Learn more at westovertonvillage.org.

Winter wonderland

The Westmoreland Museum of American Art will hold a Community Night on Friday night, themed with the season in mind.

Guests can enjoy immersive light displays and live performances, along with music by DJ Fredo. Sample seasonal snacks and sips while watching an ice-carving demonstration. There will be fire pits where attendees can roast marshmallows.

Community Night will last from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the museum, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg. While the fun is free, register online at thewestmoreland.org.

Local art exhibition

The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Ligonier will celebrate the opening of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Council for the Arts 29th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition. With artists from all over Southwestern Pennsylvania in media ranging from pastels to photography to masonry and more, this exhibit has something for all art lovers to enjoy.
