To help kick off the holiday season, a free, after-hours Candelight Open House was held Thursday at Historic Hanna’s Town.
Visitors to the Hempfield site were treated to small bites and beverages inside Hanna’s Tavern and a fire in the fireplace to cozy up to.
The path to Hanna’s Tavern was lit by candles, and living history re-enactors from Proctor’s Militia greeted guests.
The open house also included admission to the Westmoreland History Education Center’s current exhibit, “Penn’s Woods: Plenty for the Use of Man,” as well as a new display in the archaeology gallery.
