A Jeannette man was ordered Tuesday to serve up to up to 52 months in prison for the possession and dissemination of child pornography.

Anthony J. Cortazzo IV, 38, pleaded guilty in December to 11 felony counts in connection with an investigation launched last year after a former girlfriend reported she had received multiple images of child pornography.

Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Christopher Feliciani sentenced Cortazzo to serve 26 to 52 months in prison and an additional two years on probation. According to court records, Cortazzo has served 50 days behind bars since his arrest. In late June he posted $250,000 bail and was released from custody.

Police said Cortazzo last May sent text messages to the woman discussing his interest in pornography and later sent her dozens of images. A search of Cortazzo’s home found him to be in possession of 15 files that contained sexually explicit images of children raging from infants and many under the age of 10.

According to court records, Cortazzo claimed in the messages, “I like dark taboo things,” and in another message wrote, “I love very tiny, young wrong things, I guess.”

Police said when confronted with the allegations, Cortazzo confessed.

As a condition of his sentence, Cortazzo was ordered to complete a sex offender evaluation and follow recommended treatment.
