A Jeannette woman died Wednesday after a two-vehicle crash along Route 66 in Hempfield, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Kazuko Werner, 61, was driving northbound at 2:40 p.m. when her vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle, police said. Werner attempted to make a left turn onto Oakford Valley Drive without yielding the right of way to the oncoming car, authorities said. Werner’s vehicle spun 180 degrees and both vehicles came to a stop in a parking lot on the west side of the highway, police said.

Werner was taken to Allegheny Health Network Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, where she was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m., according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

Police did not identify the 51-year-old woman who was driving the other vehicle in the crash.
