Latrobe police are asking the public’s help with an ongoing investigation into the assault of a woman near St. Clair Street Park Thursday.

Police said the assault occurred 11:30 a.m.

Chief John Sleasman said the woman required medical treatment at a Pittsburgh hospital. Her injuries are non-life threatening, police said.

The actor is described as a Black or Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s. He was reportedly wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants and a dark mask, police said.

Residents in the area are urged to be cautious and to pay attention to their surroundings, Sleasman said.

Police have been following up on several tips received from the public.

The park is located at the northeast end of St. Clair Street, near the city’s border with McChesneytown in Derry Township.

Anyone who may have seen a potential suspect or any resident in the area that has a video surveillance camera is urged to contact police at 724 537 5526 or by email at lpd@cityoflatrobe.org
