Cars, bikes and more than 80 vendors will crowd Latrobe this Sunday.

The city’s first “Humble Rumble” event will kick off at 8 a.m. in the Memorial Stadium parking lot. Hosted by the Westmoreland chapter of Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education, the daylong occasion will raise money for the Latrobe-based nonprofit Angel Arms.

The vendor show will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the car cruise will take place from noon to 4 p.m. The bike run, which has a registration fee of $10, will begin at 11 a.m., but bikers must register at 10 a.m.

Participants also can enjoy music, food trucks and a kid’s corner during the Humble Rumble. ABATE treasurer Valerie Goulding said there will be “pretty much something for everyone.”

ABATE hosts events throughout the year to benefit various charities. Angel Arms, a faith-based group that offers support for babies born addicted to opioids, is one of ABATE’s favorite nonprofits, Goulding said.

All profits from the Humble Rumble will go to Angel Arms.

Goulding’s husband, Norman, who serves as ABATE’s membership officer, hopes such events change people’s perceptions of bikers.

“As ABATE of PA, we do so much charity because we’re dedicated to helping people,” Norman Goulding said. “It lets people know, ‘Hey, these bikers aren’t such bad guys and women after all.’ ”

Valerie Goulding agreed.

“We’re not just a bunch of big, bad bikers,” she said. “We’re doing community work.”
