Westmoreland County’s League of Women Voters is set to host a speaker event on public school funding and the importance of selecting school directors in the upcoming election.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11 in the second floor conference room in the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library, 237 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Greensburg.

On Feb. 7, the Commonwealth Court ruled that Pennsylvania’s school funding system is unconstitutional and must be reformed.

Matt Cesario, former school board president of Keystone Oaks School District, will give a presentation titled “Finding One Billion Dollars: Funding Westmoreland County Schools.”

The event is free and open to the public, and the library is accessible.

Those who are interested in attending should register online by clicking on the event in the calendar at events.wlnonline.org.
