A Butler County man is accused by state police of giving a teenage girl alcohol in 2007 and raping her in East Huntingdon, according to court papers.

Michael Anthony Bauer, 33, of Zelienople, was arrested Wednesday on charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and related offenses.

Troopers said Bauer encouraged the girl to drink vodka on Dec. 26, 2007, until she became intoxicated. He raped her while she went in and out of consciousness, according to court papers.

The accuser told investigators Bauer recently contacted her and apologized. Bauer was being held in the Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Bauer did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A preliminary hearing is set for June 24.
