Man found dead near Loyalhanna golf course, state police rule death ‘suspicious’

A man was found dead Saturday morning on state game lands near Loyalhanna Township, according to state police.

Robert Friend, 64, was found near Mannitto Golf Course, state police said. His death is being considered suspicious. His place of residence is unknown, said Trooper Steve Limani.

Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson said his office will conduct the autopsy on Monday. The state police will hold a press conference Monday at 1 p.m.

Anyone with information on Friend’s whereabouts on Friday can call the state police at 724-697-5780.
