A New Derry man reported missing last month was found dead Friday, according to Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson.

A search and rescue team found John J. Dofollo, 63, just before 11:30 a.m. in a Conemaugh River tributary in Derry Township. Carson said Dofollo’s death is not suspicious.

His cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy and toxicology results.

The search for him started in early February after family members reported him missing when he hadn’t returned home. His parked car was found in a gravel lot along Westinghouse Road in Derry Township Feb. 5, three days after he was last seen. He was known to fish and hike in the township.

The river tributary where his body was found is near Westinghouse Road.
