North Huntingdon seeks to fill assistant manager post
North Huntingdon officials want the township to have an assistant manager, a position that has gone unfilled since the former assistant retired in April 2023.
Township commissioners this week voted to advertise the position at a salary range of $70,331 to $115,272.
North Huntingdon has been without an assistant manager since Michael Turley of South Park resigned. Turley, who had worked for the township for about 15 years, subsequently sued North Huntingdon in August 2023 for $49,000, which he said represented a six-month severance. Turley claimed the township breached his contract when it did not pay him the severance.
The case, which was transferred from Westmoreland County Court to U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh, was settled out of court in September 2023. The township did not pay Turley any money in the settlement.
Prior to filing the lawsuit, the Pennsylvania Open Records office denied Turley’s request for communications between two administrators regarding him. The township denied having any copies of the emails.
Turley could not be reached for comment.
