The Norwin School District Community Foundation is seeking donations in hopes of raising $15,000 for student scholarships and programs.

The fundraising push for tax-deductible donations — the foundation’s Annual Days of Giving campaign — is held during Norwin’s homecoming week, Oct. 16 to 22.

The money raised will be used to fund its smallest scholarship endowments — including the Norwin Alumni and Friends Scholarship, and to support the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math programs.

The organization has managed 31 scholarships resulting in 38 awards totaling more than $144,000, said Jack Boylan, president of the Norwin community foundation. The scholarships ranged from $300 to $50,000. The group has distributed more than $993,000 in scholarships since 2007, Boylan said.

This year, the foundation provided more than $6,000 to fund four Educator Innovation Grants, Boylan said. The foundation has distributed more than $31,000 to fund Educator Innovation Grants in the past three years.
