Out & About: The Westmoreland's happy hour goes 'off to the races'
And they were “Off to the Races” at a May 12 Kentucky Derby-themed Art on Tap happy hour at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art.
Guests were invited to come in haute hippodrome couture, and they obliged with summer frocks, fascinators and chapeaus for the ladies and fedoras and sport coats for the men. Don Morchesky of Greensburg arrived, albeit sans steed, in jockey silks.
The terrace of the Greensburg museum hosted horseshoes and other lawn games.
A mint julep bar and bourbon tasting came courtesy of West Overton Distillery, with bartender duties assigned to West Overton Village & Museum staffers Patrick Bochy, Aaron Hollis Jr. and Pamela Curtin.
Guitarist Bob Brooks provided sounds suitable for sipping.
Inside, there was a photo station, a horses-and-hats-themed art scavenger hunt, Mother’s Day basket raffle and hors d’oeuvres table with charcuterie and crudites, mini-quiches, cucumber finger sandwiches, Kentucky bourbon meatballs and, for a sweet finish, multicolored macarons.
Seen at the museum: Chris and Cristina DiDiana, Daniel and Sharon McCue, Karen O’Connor, Gay Wasserman, Bruce and Jodie Charles, Marcia Dolan, Wendy Hager, Josh and Cathy Adams, Gerald and Rachelle Abel, Connie Deemer and Carol Kasnevich.
Also, Jim and Jane Nescot, Mac and Merriann Grant, Eric Schrock, Kara Collins, Kelly Osenkowski, Brian Apgar, Ashley Baker, Brian Cousins, Laura Patterson, Joanna Beres, Kris and Melissa Long, Tom Miller Jr., Toni Antonucci, Barbara Ferrier, Pat Parsons and Kitty Hricenak.
