Jeannette city council approved street paving and sidewalk replacement projects, but officials aren’t sure when the winning bidders might start construction amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A. Folino Construction of Oakmont was awarded the $124,533 paving project contract this month.

“We were ready to go with that and the sidewalk project downtown,” said city foreman Rich Ault.

The project involves paving of a few streets near Route 130 on the eastern side of the city:

• the 1000 block of North Second Street

• the 900 block of Evans Street

• Rosalind Street between North Third and Evans streets

• Louise Street between Evans Street and Frank Avenue

The same uncertainty goes for a curb and sidewalk replacement project in the 500 block of Clay Avenue, Ault said. That contract was awarded to KGD Contracting Inc. of Irwin for $174,856.
