The bookstore at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg will mark its renovation Wednesday with deals and refreshments.

Those visiting the store at 112 Chambers Hall will find fresh carpeting, campus-themed decor and a relocated checkout area, allowing a more spacious display of apparel.

Throughout the day, the store will offer a 10% discount off the purchase of one logoed item and the chance to win prizes. Light refreshments will be served.

The store is operated through a partnership with Barnes & Noble College, which worked with Pitt-Greensburg staff to recreate the campus retail space.

“The store feels more modern and displays our products better,” said John Chaump, regional manager for Barnes & Noble College. “There is also a better traffic flow, making it easier for customers to get in and out.”

The store offers a selection of Pitt-branded clothing and accessories that are available both in the store and online.

There is a new pickup window for students who are taking advantage of the Bobcat Book Bundle — previously known as First Day Complete, but renamed to embrace Pitt-Greensburg’s branding.

The Book Bundle is a one-stop concierge service that ensures students have access to all their required course materials on or before the first day of class. The program provides the average student a savings of between 35% and 50% on the cost of class materials, according to store officials.

“Campus surveys tell us that seven out of 10 students say they would do better if they had their materials on the first day of class,” said Chaump. “The Bobcat Book Bundle program makes that happen.”

Students who have internships or clinical experiences can opt out of the program.

The Pitt-Greensburg campus store is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
