Rostraver home up for auction, starting bid $1.95 million

Have a few million dollars to spend?
A home in Rostraver Township is up for auction Wednesday by Chartwell Real Estate Auctions, with the first bid starting at $1.95 million.
Located at 621 Vale Vista Court, the 16,000-square-foot house was built on 11.8 acres in 2010, featuring six bedrooms, a separate entertainment area with a small theater, two full-size kitchens, an in-ground pool and a driveway large enough for more than 50 vehicles.
“It’s one of the most amazing houses I’ve ever seen,” said Michael Berland, principal and managing director at Hanna Commercial.
Owned by Donald and Gloria Ivill, the auction is an alternative marketing technique, Berland said.
“The sellers have become more time sensitive than price sensitive, and he really wants to sell the house,” Berland said, adding Ivill is downsizing and has another house lined up.
According to an online description of the home, the house is split into two wings — the entertainment wing and the living quarters.
Each of the six bedrooms has an attached full bath, and in the master suite, the bathroom consists of double vanities, a makeup area, a glass-walled shower and a tub. The suite itself has a private terrace, heated floors, a fireplace and a dressing room.
The main kitchen has two dishwashers, two refrigerators, two ovens, two beverage refrigerators, a six-burner stove, a built-in griddle and pot filler. The secondary kitchen, located off the nine-seat theater in the downstairs area, has a built-in bar and wine room.
Also included downstairs is a full-size gym and exercise facility, an indoor putting green and two executive offices.
Outside, an in-ground pool, which was built on a 45 degree angle so guests will always have sun, a hot tub, an underground storage area for pool equipment and yard tools and a governor’s driveway makes room for more than 50 vehicles.
The house also features arched ceilings, marble floors, chandeliers, a five-stop elevator and is handicapped accessible.
The auction starts at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Registration for the event begins at 10 a.m.
Berland said several people have viewed the home during a series of open houses over the past few months, but he will not know how many serious bidders will show up until the auction starts.
“I’m just hoping we have a few,” he said. “At this price point, there’s not a whole lot of buyers out there.”
Berland said when the house was last put up for sale, the asking price was $5 million.
Family members did not return calls for comment.
