A man was killed Saturday after a Jeep Wrangler he was driving overturned in Cook, according to information released Monday by state police and the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office.

Jason T. Honick, 32, of Rostraver, died from compression asphyxiation and blunt force injuries.

Authorities said he was driving the Jeep around 6 p.m. in a wooded area near Westco 4×4 Lane, off Bethel Church Road south of Youngtown. He became pinned underneath it after the Jeep overturned on private property.

Property in that area is owned by the Westmoreland County Four-Wheel Drive Club, according to county records. No funeral information had been released.

An online fundraiser was created to help Honick’s two young children. By Tuesday morning, about $4,800 had been raised toward an $11,000 goal.
