Some say Greensburg Community Days, underway now, is the real start of summer

Junior members of the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department compete Thursday against the South Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department during the Battle of the Barrel competition at Greensburg Community Days. The three-day event that many deem an unofficial start to summer continues through Saturday evening at Lynch Field Park. It features food and craft vendors, live music, entertainment, a car cruise, fire department demonstrations and a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. Saturday by Pyrotechnico. Admission is free.
