A Mt. Pleasant Township man was sentenced Monday to serve up to five years in prison in connection with a shooting incident in December 2024.
Police claimed he and his father chased a motorist and fired multiple rounds during the incident.
Paul Anthony Caletri III, 31, pleaded guilty to one felony count of aggravated assault as part of a deal in which prosecutors agreed to dismiss charges of attempted homicide and lesser counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and reckless driving.
Authorities said Caletri and his 70-year-old father drove separate vehicles on Dec. 12, 2024 and pursued another motorist with whom they had a personal feud.
During a preliminary hearing in March, Tony Snyder testified the Caletris rammed into the victim’s pickup truck in the driveway of a Bridgeport Road home, threatened the man’s life and later pursued him along multiple roads in the area.
At least four shots were fired during the chase, Snyder claimed.
According to court records, the younger Caletri admitted to firing at least two shotgun rounds out of a vehicle window.
Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Stewart II sentenced Caletri to serve at least 30 months in prison and an additional three years on probation once he is released from custody.
The case against Caletri’s father, Paul Caletri Jr., is pending as he remains free on a nominal bond. He is facing counts of aggravated assault and other related offenses and is scheduled to appear for a pretrial hearing before Judge Scott Mears in December.
