If the bitter cold weather on Thursday got you down, maybe thinking about a beach vacation in April might lift your spirits.
Spirit Airlines said Thursday it is resuming its seasonal, five flights weekly nonstop service from Arnold Palmer Regional Airport near Latrobe to Myrtle Beach, S.C., beginning April 15.
Myrtle Beach is a favorite destination for passengers from Arnold Palmer Regional, said Andrea Lusso, Spirit’s vice president of network planning.
“We look forward to resuming this route for travelers to enjoy a warm getaway,” Lusso said.
Spirit will have round-trip service between Arnold Palmer Regional and Myrtle Beach on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Flights from Arnold Palmer Regional are scheduled to leave about 1 p.m. and flights returning to the airport in Unity are scheduled to leave about 10:40 a.m. Prices range from $96 to $166, depending on the day of the week.
Flights are available for booking on spirit.com, where travelers can browse flight details and fares, Spirit said.
The county airport authority last week reported its lowest passenger volume since 2011 for flights offered at the airport last year.
Gabe Monzo, executive director of Palmer Regional Airport, could not be reached for comment.
