Commuters on Route 22 will have another spot to grab their morning coffee later this year, with a Starbucks moving into the former Boulevard Restaurant location at the Hollywood Square shopping Center in Salem.

“It’s going to be a drive-thru plus café,” said Jeff Paul, who owns the building which also houses Picante Mexican Grill and Sky Nail. “It’s under construction right now and they’re looking to open mid-to-late summer.”

Paul said representatives of Starbucks approached him about becoming a tenant.

“It was the accessibility, the visibility and the amount of traffic that drew them,” Paul said. According to PennDOT, that stretch of Route 22 sees about 30,000 cars per day.

The new Starbucks will be just under 2,500 square feet. Paul said the remaining 3,900 square feet could be subdivided into two business spaces.

He’s happy to see a new tenant moving into the former Boulevard space.

“It most definitely drives the amount of interest, and a lot of traffic to the center as well,” he said.
