Two new covid-19 cases were reported Wednesday in Westmoreland County, but no new deaths.

The countywide case total is now 453, with 38 deaths, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

County Coroner Kenneth Bacha reported 32 coronavirus deaths, less than the state’s number but Bacha’s office has not updated its count since May 7. The coroner’s website says the information will be updated only when a new case is reported to the office.

Of the deaths recorded by Bacha’s office, 15 were men and 17 were women. The youngest was 61 years old, and the average age was 83.

More than 10,000 county residents have tested negative for the virus.

Statewide, there have been 73,405 confirmed cases of coronavirus, and 5,742 deaths, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Westmoreland County is set to enter the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s three-stage reopening plan on Friday.
