Westmoreland County added seven new covid-19 cases to its total Wednesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The newly reported cases bring the county’s total to 1,914 since the first case was reported March 19. There were no new deaths reported, keeping the county’s total at 49, where it’s remained since Aug. 19.
Of the new positive cases, six were confirmed and one is probable. The county’s daily positivity rate for the newly reported tests is 7.45%, while the overall positivity rate since March for the county is 4.71%.

There have been 99 covid-19 cases in the county in September, and the seven-day average sits at 11 new cases per day.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, there are currently three covid-19 patients hospitalized in the county, with one on a ventilator.
